Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of training and supervision on the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The research was conducted at PT XYZ, Kotawaringin Barat Regency, Central Kalimantan, using a quantitative method with a saturated sampling technique involving 61 operational workers as respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that training, supervision, and OSH implementation were all categorized as high, suggesting that the company’s safety management system has been functioning effectively. However, hypothesis testing shows that training does not have a significant effect on OSH implementation, while supervision has a positive and significant effect and serves as the dominant factor in improving compliance with PPE usage. Simultaneously, training and supervision significantly influence OSH implementation, contributing 67% to the dependent variable. These findings emphasize that consistent and communicative supervision is more effective in shaping workers’ compliance behavior compared to training that is still less contextual. Therefore, the company is advised to improve the quality of more practical training and strengthen the supervision system to create a sustainable safety culture in the workplace.
